But they provide a complete folder with files, even if they haven't changes since last beta. bass.dll that has to do with sound is sometime updated.
UPGRADE 10.6 8 TO 10.7 UPDATE
Of course, from time to time you have to update the other files too. Having multiple *.exe in the vp folder is not an issue.

Using the suggested solution above though, is considered a pretty safe approach. It is much more stable for those that want to create new tables with, but, of course, it requires also that the end user (you and I expect most of the regular john's) have taken the step yet. It is very uncommon though, that the betas that has been released is as flawed as the current provided one.ġ0.7beta has MANY great fixes over 10.6. I've seen more than one build that has had issues.
UPGRADE 10.6 8 TO 10.7 DOWNLOAD
I don't recommend the regular user to download of github though. The builds on github happens automatically, and if you don't have XP and have a github account, you can download it there. If I understand the process correctly, there is a few more steps needed to make the exe still run on XP. (version 249 - current latest) They haven't compiled a new one for the community. So, this time they didn't test enough tables to realize. Don't remember the exact version, but, well, after that versionĭevs have it under control, but, those guys are smart, clever and have a real life on top of that. this didn't happen at the very first version of 10.7beta, but, kind of in the middle. Exactly at this point, 10.7 as it lies in the beta thread crashed a few older tables.

Because of all the changes the devs introduced, they had to kind of "break the file format". change the POV, and saves it, it is now a converted 10.6 or earlier table that has become 10.7. What people are having problems with is that they don't understand that if you open a table in 10.7 and you make the smallest change, eg. Or will I always need to keep a 10.6 exe around to edit/save 10.6 tables without issue?Įdited by ItchyRobot, 16 July 2021 - 10:36 PM. Is it also eventually intended that the 10.7 exe will be able to edit and save 10.6 tables without issue? If so, what is the purpose of not just overwriting the 10.6 exe? You mentioned renaming it so it is not overwritten. Is that the case? I have been reading about people having issues with opening 10.6 tables with the 10.7 exe. You guys make it sound like the end goal of the developers is to have the 10.7 exe run 10.6 and 10.7 tables without issue. So all my tables are 10.6 (with a handfull of 10.7 tables sitting on the sidelines waiting on me to decide what to do). I did not get into the hobby until 10.6 beta. Fix is avail, but, not via the beta channel. Current latest updated beta 249 is not something you want to keep though. I agree with GtxJoe, I will also be running 10.7 for everything, but, I will also be keeping that VPinballX62.exe, just like I have VP9, PM5 variants.
